1. Data Collection
AI Web Agent handles the following types of data:

Page Content (DOM, accessibility tree, screenshots): When you ask the agent to perform a task on a page, the Extension reads the page's DOM, accessibility tree, and captures screenshots so the AI provider you've selected can decide what to do next. This data is sent to your chosen provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) along with your task instruction. It is never stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers.

API Keys (BYOK): You provide your own API key for whichever AI provider you choose. The key is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage and is sent only to that provider's API endpoint. It is never transmitted to us.

Scheduled Tasks: Tasks you schedule (the prompt and the cadence/time) are stored locally on your device.

Scheduled-Run History (Max): For Max users, the last 15 completed scheduled runs (task name, prompt, summary text, timestamp) are stored locally so you can ask the agent about past runs. Older entries are pruned automatically.

Memory (Max): For Max users, the agent saves compressed semantic notes from past sessions locally to provide context for future tasks.

Preferences: Safe mode, idle-only scheduling, model choice, and similar settings are stored locally on your device.

License Key (Max): If you have purchased a Max license, your license key and activation status are stored locally on your device and verified with Gumroad's servers to confirm your purchase.
We do not collect or store any information beyond what is necessary for the Extension to function. We never resell your personal information.
2. How We Use Data
- Task Execution: Page content and your task instruction are sent to your selected AI provider so the agent can decide on the next action. Actions (clicking, typing, navigating) run locally in your browser via the Chrome DevTools Protocol.
- License Validation: Your license key is verified with Gumroad's servers to confirm your purchase and respect activation limits.
- Feature Access: Your license status enables or disables Max features (scheduling, persistent memory, scheduled-run history) within the Extension.
- Preference Storage: Your settings persist locally across sessions on the same device.
3. Data Sharing
Data is shared only with the following third parties, and only as required for the Extension to function:

Your Selected AI Provider: Page snapshots and task instructions are sent to whichever provider you've configured. Each provider has their own privacy practices:
- Gumroad: License validation requests are sent to Gumroad's servers to verify purchase status. See gumroad.com/privacy.
Our data sharing is strictly limited to the services listed above. We never share, distribute, or resell your personal information to anyone else.
4. Data Storage
- Local Storage: API keys, scheduled tasks, scheduled-run history, memory entries, preferences, license key, and Max status are all stored locally on your device using Chrome's extension storage APIs.
- No Server Storage: We do not store any personal information on our own servers. All Extension state remains on your device or, in the case of license validation, with Gumroad.

6. User Rights
You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. Because AI Web Agent stores all data locally on your device, you can clear it at any time by removing the Extension or clearing its storage through your browser settings.
